As 2005 is the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot, Barcombe Bonfire Society decided to scale up their usually small-scale celebrations by inviting several other societies to join them. More than double the usual number of torches were made, the fire was bigger, but by far the most impressive thing for me was the quality and size of the procession. Walking back from Boast Lane into the village, the road was a river of fire. Absolutely fantastic. Congratualtions to all those involved in organising this event.
I'm afraid I didn't get any pictures of the procession - email me some and I will put them here!
